Years In Business
Man-Trans, in 2007, will be celebrating its 10 th anniversary. Moore is no stranger to the automotive industry. He began selling rebuilt transmissions to transmission shops, auto recycling facilities, and automotive repair facilities.
Man-Trans is a wholesale transmission business. Its main customers are auto recycling facilities, transmission shops and auto-repair shops nationwide. The company's web site, www.mantrans.com , has helped the company establish an international presence, but the most essential marketing tool is simple word-of-mouth.
Quality Counts
"Here at Man-Trans, we want our customers talking about the company's Quality, Service and Availability."
We at Man-Trans don't want to be thought of as the largest transmission re-manufacturer. We would rather be known for quality and availability. " We believe if we serve our customers and support the product, the rest will come."
Redesign
Man-Trans is "constantly addressing quality. The facility was completely redesigned with a conveyor system that streamlines the workflow and allows for more quality control, for example, two people inspect each transmission before it even gets to the technician and tested on the dyno before its allowed to leave the facility.
Manual transmissions are time consuming to remanufacture. Man-Trans completes about 5000 annually. The new work area was designed to adapt to twice that growth.
"We've made our facility really versatile so we can move things around and add people. Versatility, Efficiency and Quality production is our goal."
